After 8 years in legal profession (with 3 years PQE), re-qualified as a marine engineer.

Shipbuilding experience on the Tyne, seagoing experience with Blue Star Line on reefers and container ships.

Industrially funded research with International Marine Coatings / Newcastle University Ship Performance Group on the effects of surface roughness on ship performance.

Marine Consultant since 1985 apart from 3 year break in railway industry 1991 - 1994. Specialist in cases where mathematical and computing analysis is required.
